I gave up trying to start my gas trimmer and got this thinking it would be easier to use and nicer to the environment. I now have mixed feelings. Dragging the cord around is a slight nuisance as expected, but not having a bump head is what’s most annoying. It feeds the line automatically but not necessarily when I want it to or to the length I want it, and there is nothing you can do about that. On the plus side it’s powerful enough, it weighs less, it’s very easy to switch between trimming and edging, and having it start at the pull of a trigger is awesome. The balance is very different from my gas trimmer so it took a little getting used to. I also miss the blade edger attachment on my gas trimmer. I might buy this again – would need to see what else is available.
